A milestone, not the finish line
Recognising and supporting women at every stage of growth
In 2026, Westpac achieved its commitment to lend $1 billion to female-led businesses, supporting thousands of businesses across Australia. Reaching this milestone is an important moment, but not the finish line.
To celebrate the achievement and continue backing the next generation of women in business, the inaugural Westpac Female Founder Awards were launched to recognise and support women building businesses at every stage of growth.

Access to finance
An alternative pathway to funding and growth
Access to finance remains one of the biggest challenges facing founders. Westpac is the only major Australian bank offering lending to eligible startups based on the strength of their business plan and cash flow forecast, providing an alternative pathway to funding and growth.
Building a stronger, more inclusive innovation ecosystem
Together with initiatives such as The Gender Index Australia, these programs help drive meaningful conversations about the opportunities, barriers and practical actions needed to improve outcomes for female founders.
By supporting founders from the earliest stages of their journey through to scaling and growth, Westpac is helping build a stronger and more inclusive innovation ecosystem for Australia.
